The Jewish Holiday of Shavuos - Spiritual Preparation

Passover programs seven weeks from the Jewish Holiday "Pesach" until the Jewish Holiday "Shavuos" are known as the long stretches of "Sefiras HaOmer" the counting of the Omer, for then we play out each night the Mitzvah of Sefiras HaOmer, counting up the days among Pesach and Shavuos. The possibility of the Mitzvah of Sefiras HaOmer is to set ourselves up for getting the Torah on Shavuos, like the seven weeks that the Jewish public filtered themselves and set themselves up for the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai after the Exodus from Egypt. The requests that we say when Sefiras HaOmer talk about self filtration that is truly expected to be happening during this time.

I compose this article somewhat recently of the Sefirah, when we make the last arrangements for the Jewish Holiday of Shavuos.

A Question From the Torah Portion "Yisro"

The Torah lets us know that on Rosh Chodesh Sivan, (the principal day of the period of Sivan), the Jewish public showed up at Midbar Sinai in anticipation of the giving of the Torah on Shavuos, which occurred on the 6th or the seventh day of Sivan.

The Torah Commentary Rashi in Parshas Yisro brings from the expressions of our Sages, for what reason does the Torah need to rehash the words, "they went from Refidim?" We realize that they were already in Refidim, and assuming it says that they came to Midbar Sinai, certainly they left Refidim? Rather, says Rashi, it is to make an examination between their landing in Midbar Sinai to their leaving Refidim, very much like their landing in Midbar Sinai was with contrition, so was their leaving Refidim with contrition.

I inquire: If Refidim isn't just the name of the spot, yet in addition addresses their profound issue of "Rafu Yedayhem MeDivrei Torah," of disregarding Torah study, as per the expressions of our Sages, and consequently among others they got it over the head from Amalek, then, at that point, assuming leaving Refidim addresses leaving the condition slack in Torah learning, so then, at that point, it is plainly obvious that they were in a condition of contrition, for they reinforced themselves in serving G-d as a rule, and in Torah learning specifically. That is the atonement. So then, at that point, we return to the inquiry for what reason do I want the additional words that they left Refidim?

I was motivated to comprehend this in the soul of an article that I expounded on Shabbos HaGadol, the Sabbath before Pesach, that it is feasible for an individual to have every one of the outer features, strict dress and strict quirks, yet he has not yet begun to serve G-d, he could in any case serve himself.

There are a lot of justifications for why an individual could reinforce himself now in these couple of days before Shavuos. One explanation is to oblige every other person who is fortifying themselves during this time - - craze, style. Another explanation is to flaunt, or to be considered fruitful in his own eyes.
